Do you mean photo 4 (the plec head on)? If so it is Peckoltia braueri posing for the camera!

It's just a show, no auction (at this time). Basingstoke District Aquatic Society [I think, there are like three differnet groups that are somewhat mingled into one group of organizing people]. It's in the Kempshott Village Hall.

Isn't it brevispinnis though, not cyclurus? (no clear edge to the caudal, more rounded, head of a "newt")

First one was imported as Imparfinis sp Paraguay but I think they are I. minutus. The second one is a Phyllonemus typus I think

Thanks for the ID's Steve. Been on the look out for Heptapterids for sometime now. I am turning into various shades of green at the moment.

No probs. The Imparfinis were sold at Castleford's Catfish and Loach show and auction.

Yes it was a very nice fish. Must admit I've never seen one so green!

the Lophiobagrus is brevispinis; cyclurus has a much more square tail and all fins have a clear colorless edge in cyclurus; this fish doesn't have those

nice Phyllonemus btw; I hope he's not a single fish; that's one species that's best not kept alone

single P typus tend to pine and in time just disappear.


the Mochokiella's are very fat

Ituglanis metae.....very nice; another one that's like the Phyllonemus, but less extreme.
it doesn't waste away, but single fish are as shy as any Auchenipterid, while groups are quite visible, especially at feeding time, regardless of light.

The typus belongs to Ian Fuller. I think he's had it a while.

The Ituglanis is a friends and he has a group.

One of the paynei's is Ian's, one is my friend's that lives in a small group. paynei females almost always get fat. I had one for may years that looked like it had swallowed a ping pong ball

The paynei were cracking specimens, I was surprised the Microsynodontis won that class.

Some cracking pictures there, to compliment a good day out, i really enjoyed it and the pie n peas weren't bad either

Loving the head on shot of the P.Braueri that and the C.Undulatus were my favourite 2 fish.

Yeah, that is a good pose isnt it with the braueri? The colours on it are really intense.
