The Adonis Thread

Post by knifegill »

Let's see some updates! This fish has been popular in the hobby and readily available for a while now, so how are these grow-outs coming along? Mine has just about hit 7" and still has spots, pics to come within the hour. If you've got 'em, show 'em! What better excuse to break out the camera than the amazon's largest loricariid?

Nice plecs folks! I'm addicted all the worse now.

Love the background (L24?) pleco, Chouin.

No, not at all. He just had a bad phase for a few weeks, and this was when I took the photo. I think it was about parasites, due to the white excrement at this time.

cheers,

Wow! Not to hijack the thread, but when and where did you get the L24?

Thanks !
It was before the ban, about 4-5 years ago.
It was during a "pleco group buy" that someone made in Montreal (he was working at a fish importator).

Now we need more Adonis !

What's the largest one photographed? I know there is a big one in Pete's Bolton Aquarium.

There is a monster at Wharf Aquatics near Nottingham as well, or at least there was about 5 years ago.

Biggest Lori I have ever seen by a considerable margin.

I wonder if this monster would match together with the Potamotrygon in my tank @-) Instead of the definitely too big (and too dangerous for my smaller cats) Pseudoplatystoma...

maybe an apportunity to have a "big one" on the bottom... I'll think about it later... :-\
the Potamotrygon adventure has begun...

I'll be updating this soon, pics tomorrow. Just wondered if anybody else wanted to jump in with new pics or a new adonis.
