Compatibility of Amblyceps foratum

Post by amiidae »

Hi guys,

May I know how they fair with other equal sized cat ? Are they aggressive ?

I am thinking adding a Liobagrus sp. and Glyptothorax fokiensis. Tank size is 40gal.

Thanks

I've never had a problem keeping Amblyceps with any other catfish.

My friend had some A. foratum. They were Ok with every other catfish but seemed to squabble amongst themselves quite a bit.

Thanks, guys.

Some Asian cats are downright nasty but I am happy to hear positive respond for this cat. :)

I had four of these a few years ago housed with some mothcats and some anabantoids, they never showed any signs of aggression and kept to staying under the same piece of bogwood together during the daytime only coming out to feed.

Steve, I had one male and three females and never observed any squabbles except sometimes when I was feeding heavily with live bloodworms, but it didn't seem any thing belligerent. Interesting to Know if Roy had more than one male; perhaps it is the males that squabble?

He had more males than females but it seemed to be the females that had bite marks. It could have just been a bit of squabbling over hiding places.

Mine (foratum?) seemed to dislike the mochokiella paynei in the tank but bothing serious ever came from it.
