BUG: Entering breeding report blanks some fields
In terms of entering a breeding report, the assumed way to do it is that you add some fish to an aquarium and then at some point in the future the fish spawn. Thus, when you record this event a lot of the data is already pulled forward from that already entered. However, if you just enter a breeding report with nothing else present, this should be possible but it is "difficult".
There is a bug here that several of the fields are blanked (I think actually what is happening is the system is trying to pull in non-existent my aquaria data).

Re: BUG: Entering breeding report blanks some fields
I can't speak for everyone(obviously) but I more often than not set up a tank for the specific purpose of breeding. When the spawning is done the aquarium may well be put to another use and set up differently.
In fact my tanks are in a constant state of flux with fish moving around and substrate/decor being changed constantly.
Any online system for recording all this would have to be extremely quick and easy to use to make it worth doing.

Is this when you are EDITING, or just when adding a spawning report for a species that isn't registered in a tank? If it's the latter, I'm not sure what else we can provide? I mean, we can't really get a pH, temperature, or furniture, if there is no tank to refer to.

Initial input. I think we need a breeding report lite which basically reports that it's been done and if there are juveniles for trade. The points system will take care of the rest.

Re: BUG: Entering breeding report blanks some fields
So, if there is no tank assignation, it goes into "lite" mode? Seems like the easiest way to achieve it.

An I guess to fill in everything else, you just go "edit" afterwards... Saves having a "go full fat" ;)

Re: BUG: Entering breeding report blanks some fields
Yes, there should be a minimum field form that fills in the minimum data and then the usual re-edit link. At this point the user may also begin to understand about the BAP points system to and so be further incentivised to go and add more stuff.

Re: BUG: Entering breeding report blanks some fields
The "breeding report lite" feature is now live. When first adding a breeding report, only a few fields are asked for. Only after that stage can you then add all the fields.
