I need to sort out my current stocking. I have the above Catfish in a community set up with a golden zebra loach, female guppies, a platy and some mountian minnows.
The catfish seems to think that his tank mates are just mere midnight snacks so i need to get more robust tank mates for this lunatic.
I have been advised with African Cichlids. However the thought of keeping Cichlids quite frankly terrifies me and i'm not sure i know enough about them having never kept them before. I have read up and the african tans seem to prefer hard alkali water (something which go's for me in my area) but the aggression and size of the tank i may need puts me off slightly.
Can anyone suggest of less aggressive tank mates for this loon who will not be savaged anytime the light go's off?

Re: Suitable Tankmates for S.Eupterus
I have had very diversified communities of mostly catfish. My synos, including euptera, never bothered any other fish but I never kept small fish with them, meaning they were all between 3"-4" to 9"-10" TL (total length). See these pics - maybe you you will spot something that you like. http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/view ... t=+120+gal
Beware, it is possible to have problems with a euptera:
