oddball cats for a 77 gal.
oddball cats for a 77 gal.
I'm planning on getting a 77 gal. tank. I'm looking for some oddballs(max. of 8 in. if this is the case it will need to be peaceful). I was thinking about just about every different kind of banjo cat I can find(i've got a real fasination about them). Thanks Evan.

You won't have to worry about overcrowding the tank, then. Apart from B. coracoideus, the other species are not imported that frequently and aren't easy to find. Limiting fish to under 8" would also exclude the long-tailed banjos (Aspredo, Aspredinichthys and Platystacus) as these reach to more than 10".
Still, 77 gallons is quite a bit of space to work with...

heh, Bajo cats are harmless to anything but fry as I understand it, smaller mouths, extremely sedentary lifestyle, more interested in poking about for leftovers.
Poking a bit of fun? http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3?d ... 2-16&res=l

There's a truckload of fish available, that won't hurt your Cory's, Pleco's or loach at all!
If you stick to the Amazon forest:
-Small Dorads: Opsodoras spp, Amblydoras hancocki, Agamyxis pectinifrons, Acanthodoras spp, Hassar notospilus.
-small Auchenipterids: Auchenipterichthys thoracatus (Zamora cat), Tatia spp, Centromochlus perugiae, Entomocorus benjamini, Trachelyichthys exilis.
-Banjo cats: Bunocephalusspp, Agmus spp etc
-medium Callichthyds: Hoplosternum punctatum, Dianema spp, Megalechis spp, Lepthoplosternum spp, Brochis spp.
-other NON-Ancistrinae Pleco's (most people only have Ancistrinae: L numbers, Pleco's, Bristlenose etc): Sturisoma, Rhineloricaria, Otocinclus, Hypoptopoma etc
-small Trichomycterids: Trichomycterus, Ituglanis.
-small Pims: Brachyrhamdia spp (does very well with Cory's!), Microglanis spp, Pimelodella spp, Pimelodus pictus.
I've not even started on Asians or Africans

Plan B should not automatically be twice as much explosives as Plan A
