Hi, I dug up this thread as when feeding this tank tonight, with still only, 4 adult L134, 3 male and 1 female in. I saw something stuck on the glass, it is a young L134 2cm long!

I had given up on this back in October/November time, and since then no longer bothered with RO water and have just done weekly 30% water changes with my hard local tap water, and other than that left the tank alone.

I have now counted 11 fry all roughly 2cm long with more still in a cave.

I've attached a few pics for you.

I just had one question, what next? Leave in this tank or move? I only have one other free tank, a small 27 litre clearseal which has been empty for months. What should I feed them with? Would baby brine shrimp and a few veg pellets be ok?

At the moment, due to the tank being fairly mature with only L134 present, and the fry having used up their yolk sacs, I am tempted to leave them in with the adults, what is the general consensus?

Just goes to show that if you leave the fish to it, they'll know what to do!

Congrats on the spawning.

Edit: Unless you have other fish that eat small fish in the tank, I'd just leave them in the tank for a while. Once they get a bit bigger, you'll obviously need to move them to a growout tank...

Thanks Mats, its so frustrating when starting out to be told they'll breed when thy are ready, or it will take months or even years. I'm very pleased now that it has happened and look forward to them growing, now I know I wasn't doing anything wrong!

Thanks for posting the edit, the only fish in that tank are the parents, it's good news that it will be fine to leave them there for a while until they grow a bit more.
