hand feeding synodontis ocellifer unusual?

Post by bigamefish »

Hey everybody! I was just wondering if it is a strange thing that i am able to hand feed my ? He hasn`t even been in the tank for a month! he was completly unfazed by my hand! sometimes when i have my face by the glass watching them he comes right up to me and watches me right back! Needless to say fascinating fish! If anybody would like i will take a video next time i feed frozen food.

They quickly learn who feeds them and can be conditioned quite quickly due to the fact they love to eat.

Mind you my ocellifer were quite reclusive except at feeding time.

It kinda caught me off guard! Mine is always out! but as soon as he spots a cichlid in his cave he flys back over and shows them who is boss! So really he isn`t out that much :)) those pesky cichlids! but he has no problem with anybody else being in his cave though.

Mine loved to eat anything. He grew from 2 inches to about 8 inches in no time.
