Looks to me that the lower one is a male and the upper a female...Phyllonemus wrote:I'm not that experienced with Auchenipterids yet, but to my opinion the Augeneiosus from Bijn's two pictures are females.
Am I right ?
I'm guessing they are the same Richard showed off earlier in this thread.wrasse wrote:Just a few shots of these cats. Note the greeny-gold colour and dash-dash pattern.
They are feisty when the food goes in!
They have settled well and are quite greedy!

Here's my best wishes on that. And if she was any riper, she'd probably do a "Mr Creosote" impression.wrasse wrote:Not the clearest video, but as you can see, the female is now very ripe. Just need her to spawn![]()
Lex, I've seen them on a regular basis at Utaka Amersfoort, and i've never seen them behave different from the movie above.sidguppy wrote: are they always like this or do they hide regular Driftwoodcat style once settled?
Pretty good... a small earthworm every other day and it should be back on the rails in no time. Did you manage to sex your jags?Shane wrote:I am out of town, but the wife called and said that the injured jaguar finally ate an earthworm tonight. For the record, his fast lasted from 17 Feb to 1 May. Just shy of six weeks.
Not yet, but I would like to. Problem is that they live in ceramic "pleco burritos" so I have no idea how I would ever get them out of those things.Did you manage to sex your jags?
Getting those caves out of the water will do the trick. Lios are not nearly as stubborn as Spinipterus or Trachycorystes, so they will abandon the "burritos" quite quickly ime.Shane wrote:Problem is that they live in ceramic "pleco burritos" so I have no idea how I would ever get them out of those things. Eventually I'll need to find a way.
depends on taste; IMO Trachelyichthys exilis is far more beautiful than any Tatia.....A very nice fish, but no match for the T. strigata!
They are something aren' they?kruseman wrote:What a beautifull Tatia, Steve!
It looks like a crossbreed of C. concolor and C.perugiae in a way.
Great! Have fun with them.
