Some synos to identify

Post by jippo »

I have two of these, not sure but I think they are . Other one is very old, maybe from 80's, other one is few years old. Sorry about bad photos with old one, I hardly ever see it and it is very hard to photo.

This came as "Synodontis mix" from Africa. I thought first it's but not so sure anymore. Maybe ?

This came at same shipment as earlier species, hasn't been growing much and is still less than 15cm(TL). Thought this could be .

Could this be at all? Humerall process doesn't seem to fit when I compare it to Poll's revision. I have always thinked this one is schall.

Brown spotted obesus/rebeli group...really hoping some literature comes out on these soon or one of us is going to have to really figure them out.

Mature could very well be correct.

I am with you on

Maybe or another schall lookalike

And for sure as HH has already mentioned.

Could use some of these pics in the Cat-eLog...also would not mind adding to the undescribed one(yellow syno that is not yellow anymore...those are good pics)

These are very hard to identify, most of these brown synos I don't even try but both of these two I think are same species. Hope we get some new scientific material about obesus/rebeli complex.

IMO arnoulti should have longer maxillary barbels so I think it's something else. Closest I can get is .
