new additions to my tank

Hey all,
I'm no fish expert but I do quite enjoy my aquariums. Just looking for a little advice on what to get next. Ive been thinking either otos or corys. The fish I have are all small at the moment but i have a tank with 3 redtail sharks and a pleco and another tank which has a ram cichlid, another redtail, a cherry barb, and a pleco. I have had a few otos befor ewith bigger cichlids and they were eaten so I was leaning towards putting them in with my sharks. I dont know how big either the otos or the corys get, will they stay too small and get eaten by my sharks? would one be better than the other? and of course how big does each get?

Any advice would be great.

Redtail sharks can become quite nasty--especially towards anything that has a black dorsal fin.

Assuming your tanks are large enough to accomodate more fish, I would think the oto cats would be fine in either of your tanks. Corydoras cats would also probably be okay too, but they NEED to have a sand substrate. Gravel/pebble substrate is a big no no with Corydoras sp. Both types of catfish do better in groups of at least 5-6--the more, the better.

Thanks for the advice, I think I'm going to go with the corys for my shark tank. it has sand and they get a little bit bigger than the otos so might do a little better against the sharks.Apparently they have armour like scales too, had no idea. Mainly looking for some more stuff that likes to dig so i dont have to churn the sand as often, not to mention its cool to watch. Any other suggestions on what to add to the tanks? I'm really only familiar with cichlids and sharks cuz thats what I always had. want to get the tanks stocked up now while they are all small as adding small fish with 4" cichlids is just an expensive meal.

The smaller tank is a 29 and the bigger one is 36-ish. Cant remember it exactly i know its between 35 and 40. for the smaller one I'm thinking 1 or 2 more fish at the most, maybe 3 or 4 in the bigger one. once they start to get big i trade at the pet store so the tank doesnt get outta hand.
