Possible Tank Mates ?
Hi folks,
I have just setup a small 60l grow out tank for my 3 x 1.5 inch Datnioides microlepis and I'm looking for some tank mates that are small enough to either stay in the 60l once my tigers move over to my 250l at the 3-4 inch mark (which should be about 9-12 months) or possibly move with them if something has a slow growth rate to match the tigers.
I have looked and done some research but thought it best to ask people with far more experience before I set my heart on something that is totally impractical,
Tank is 24x15x12 Ph 7.5 Gh 10-15.
Regards
Andy

How predatory are the tigers? How big do their mouths open up as this may influence choices. There is so much we could suggest it might be better if you tell us what has caught your eye & we can advise on suitability.

They can be quite predatory to smaller fish and do have a predators mouth to suit but they are slow growing around 2-3 inch a year is what I have been told,
I have looked at a couple of species either a Kryptopterus sp to stay in the 60l and Pseudomystus siamensis or Bagroides melapterus to move up to the 250l with the tigers,
I have very little experience with Asian cats so I am open to any and all suggestions.

Pseudomystus or bagroides seem a reasonable fit. Bagroides need to be kept singly as they don't tolerate others IME.

How far is ferrybridge aquatics? They get some nice stuff in. Bagroides are scarce & I've only seen them at 3 lfs. Only Pier aquatics have ever had more than one at a time.
