New picture of P. obscurum

Post by Acanthicus »

Hi,

the fish in this picture does clearly have an adipose fin and also an iris lobe (don't know the correct word in english unfortunately, but I mean that what Rhinelepini don't have).
http://www.planetcatfish.com/common/ima ... e_id=14386

So it can't be a P. obscurum.

cheers, Daniel

So it can't be a P. obscurum.
This is actually an older image that has been in for awhile but I can see your point.

Any idea what it is?

I think it could be a Parancistrus, but I can not spot the connection between dorasl fin and adipose. Might be because the specimen doesn't look that healthy, looking at the fins. But it's not the perfect match either.

Will have a look at the others.

It was popping up on facebook, so I thought it would be a new one.

This is an old, incorrect ID from me. The fiss (Mark Smiths pic) is probably .
