Help with LED lightning

Post by Jaz »

Hey.

I just ordered my new tank setup which include 3 tanks for plecos and 1 sump for plants and stuff. Main post in here http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/view ... =4&t=37131
Final measurements for the tanks are 160cm (63in) x 57cm (22in) x 25cm(10in) and from that 25cm, I will probably get like 22-23cm of water.

Now everything else is figured out, but I need help with lights. Was planning to do tank lightnings with LED strips, but I don't know how much I need an what of them are the best ones.
I would like the color of the aquariums be something like this, since plecos won't need light anyway, so it's only for me. :)

Then I will add those minilandscape rocks and christmas moss to make those tree looking things, like in this picture. For these I need good spotlights since the LED strips won't grow them.

I've been looking LED strips from 50 different sellers and they vary so much, that I have no idea where to buy them.
Found few quite good prices from here.

But how many should I get and which model so they are enough. Would like to see the ripples of water at the bottom of the tank, but it's not necessary. And are there any good options for those spot lights that would be good for growing cristmas moss? Gonna grow few easy plants in the sump and then I will try growing tomatoes. Where do I find good lights for these?

Any suggestions would be great! :)
