Hemibagrus planiceps
Just got the right time to take a picture of one of my favorite hemibagrus. Usually they came along with nemurus & sold under that name.

Thank you.minipol wrote:Nice catfish, any idea how big they get?

Haven't got any idea honestly. Some of my friends said have seen 30 to 35cm specimens, but it's only an estimate.

Re: Hemibagrus planiceps
As there is only a preserved specimen pictured in cat-e-log would you consider sending pics to be included?

Yeah, good idea, Richard. I am not trying to stir the pot but are we sure of the ID? Better secure Silurus's opine first?

Re: Hemibagrus planiceps
It's a member of the H. planiceps species group, but it's easier to identify if I knew where it came from.

Re: Hemibagrus planiceps
Little less timid compared to nemurus & don't hesitate to go out during daytime, but still very skittish when approached by people. I don't really have problem keeping the fish (about 14cm SL week ago) with 6.5cm agamyxis & 8cm carpintis in 90l quarantine tank for a month.Viktor Jarikov wrote:What's their temperament and aggressiveness?

I'm having a little trouble taking better pics of him (not sure), really have to spend more time working on this.
Comes from West Java, could be from Bogor or Sukabumi area.Silurus wrote:It's a member of the H. planiceps species group, but it's easier to identify if I knew where it came from.
