30G Corydoras Tank

Post by Supercorygirl »

So I have been redecorating and shuffling my fish around. This one finally done to my satisfaction (well once the plants grow in a bit more will be).
Stock lights, playsand with thin layer of black, low tech plants (swords/crypts/java moss/few others)
Sponge filter (good for 50G), eheim liberty HOB (good for 50G)

Livestock
6 Green Laser Corys (CW009)
5 Duplicareus Corys
3 Centromochlus Perugia (had 4 but can only find 3 :(( )
3 Dragon Scale Plakat Females

Nice setup like the pots, never know the missing lady might turn up sometimes fish hide so well its amazing. Some of mine I only see once every few days.

One question is it common not to use backing where you are from?

For anyone in the metric system the tanks about 113 litres = to the largest one I have. Wish I could afford / fit bigger tanks!

Some people like backgrounds, some don't. I'm not a big fan of them. I might if I can find it put on the plain black but the cords don't other me. I ripped apart the 75G they were in to move them here but fingers crossed.

It's a lot of maneuvering to squeeze all my tanks in at home but who needs a home office LOL.

Looking good, Jenn!

What are you using for black sand? Thinking of getting some more, myself.

I'll let you know Jason, got at Aquarium Central for around $24, managed to one of my 75G, the 30 and still have half a bag left. Still have the 60G, 2-10G that I'm for certain doing. Want to have all my tanks with this now love the look, but have been inspired by a visit to a few fish rooms lately :-p

This what I'm using for the black sand, 20lb bag, should have enough left to do 2-10G (did 75G, 60G, 30G). Going to have to redo the 75 again as those damn MTS destroyed the black layer.

If you're mixing sands, you'll never keep the layers separate with MTS (Malaysian Trumpet Snails, for those unfamiliar with the acronym). That black sand you saw in my tanks is about 3 parts Playsand and 1 part black sand and has been thru years of MTS and about 4 moves, where I just put it all into pails. It's suprising how much the black stands out when the two colors are thuroughly mixed!

I really like cories and bettas, nice tank!
gorgeous female bettas, black dragons are some of my favorites! (I used to have a yellow fin pearl-white scaled dragon pair myself).
Those spotted catfish are neat :)
As always the cories are awesome!
