Hi,
While stopping into one of the LFS a pleco caught my eye. I've been looking for a large pleco so I asked the worker what kind he was. They said they weren't sure yet as someone rescued him from a basement in an abandoned house and just dropped him off. I asked how much and they said $5 but no guarantee. He's 4-5" and I persoanlly like his lighter than normal lines (he lost quite a bit of color on the ride home so don't let the pic fool you). I think he's a "Pterygoplichthys (Liposarcus) multuradiatus" but not sure. Any thoughts?
Rescued Pleco type?

Hi Dave
Welcome to PC!
Definitely , a shot of the underside patterning may help confirm ID, but whichever one, you are looking at a fish that gets to a minimum of ~16".

Re: Rescued Pleco type?
It looks a lot like my basic Pleco.. what is the difference between the Pterygoplichthys and the Plecostomous and what is so different about them..?
http://plecostomus.org/ or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pterygoplichthys
I'm sure this is a rookie thing to ask but .. sorry.
