Capital Cichlid Association is hosting a weekend event called AquaMania (The Big Fish Deal) on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday, Feb 28 - Mar 2, 2014 at the Hilton in Gaithersburg, MD.

Big thanks to Shane for presenting on "Exploring the Natural Habitats of the Loricariidae" - can't wait!

We've also got Anton Lamboj flying in from Austria (!) to present on west African fish and CARES, Rusty Wessel on Central American cichlids, and Pam Chin on collecting in Lake Tanganyika and Peacocks.

Our founding principles:
1) Give the people what they want and cut out the rest: People want to buy fish, hear a few GREAT speakers and hang out with friends...not endure expensive banquets, scientific lectures and all-day auctions

2) Minimize cost for participants: Keep registration and room rates cheap and provide lots of free food and beverages...so there's more to spend on fish and supplies

3) Welcome new people and inspire club members: Bring in people from outside of fish-club circles with a welcoming attitude, stunning Aquarium Beautiful display and free activities for kids and families. Inspire current club members to learn, share and support the club, hobby and conservation.
