Please help sex my L97

Post by Simon86 »

Good evening.

On the weekend I've moved my six L97 into a bigger tank. I've used this oppurtunity to make some pictures. To be honest, they aren't that good...
They measure 15 - 18cm (but #2 and #4 are only 12cm). Any suggestions what sex they are, please?

Cheers Simon

Hi. 2 and 6 look like males. 5 might also be a male. They need more food to make it easier. If you go to YouTube and search on my ID you will find some of my short fish videos. I posted my two pairs of adults for comparison. I also have hints how to sex them.

Hope it helps,
Jim

I found these photos of my pair just before their first spawn. They are just a bit larger then some of yours. The differences are easy to spot at this size but with experience these same traits can be seen when they are as small as 3"

Thanks for your reply Jim. I'll keep them feeding and look what I get :d
I'm happy they have some more space now.

Cheers Simon
