Is image 8 a very large, particularly stocky, blunt headed individual or does anyone see something of a hybrid in it? Interested in opinions
The headshape looks wrong to me & although very large pseudolatystoma can get "chunky" they are still more streamlined than this individual

It looks like it could simply be the angle, no?
It does not look like any of the hybrids I've seen, keeping in mind IDK its size. If it is 4'-5', I'd say IDK if it is a hybrid or not.

I "know" the fish in question and it was a wild import from SA and is now residing in a Danish public aquarium - pretty sure the ID is OK.
