I tried to take a picture, but it isn't very clear. Just wondering if his mouth is anything we should worry about.
Forgot to mention: ammonia-0, nitrite-0, nitrate-5, ph-7.4, average water temperature 80F.

We have a dirted substrate with an Eco-Complete cap. We also have a large piece of driftwood and a Texas Holey rock and some slate in the tank.Supercorygirl wrote:What type of substrate do you have? Is there rough rocks in the tank like lace rock? This looks similiar to what my first albinos would have when I kept them on gravel. They basically wore off their barbels and "noses" digging and would end up passing away from the wounds.
What do I do to help him heal his wounds?FerocactusLatispinus wrote:That definitely looks like abrasion from a rough surface. I'd move him to a quarantine tank, or remove whatever is causing the injuries and treat him as soon as possible. The mouth looks pretty much non-existent, so I'm not sure if it can grow back, but if you say he can still feed properly, the best thing would be to help his wounds to heal over. I know adding a few new friends will always make a cory quite happy once everything's worked out!
Please be sure to keep us updated! I know all of us will do all we can to help!
