Folks, please help me, identifying this pleco...

Post by ajfd4E »

Hello Folks,

I need some help in identifying this pleco. I got it at Minas Gerais State, in Brazil, in a tributary of Paranaíba River, that belongs to Paraná Basin.

Please, any clue?

Cheers

Not a Baryancistrus. The dorsal and adipose fins are well separated.

Was just typing that! It's a species of (Hypostomus group) but the first step is to rule in or out all the described species from the Parana drainage.

I would say it is an Hypostomus ternezi or a very close species
