Synodontis Pardalis

Post by Emmo »

Hi all,
Just a quick question. My LFS has some young Pardalis(about 4cm.) in stock @ £8:95. After reading up on them, this price seems to good to be true. Can anyone advise?
Thanks

A picture would help immensely.

Going back to shop later, will try and get a photo. Does this price seem right. Read that they are endangered, but are they being tank bred now.

Without a photo, its impossible to say, but personally I'd be very surprised (read gobsmacked) if they were genuine at that price.

They would normally be ten times or more that price for 4"+ WC individuals.

Pardalis is the name of a rare, seldom imported species.

It is also the name used by commercial breeders for hybrid synos, hoping to get buyers - I can guarantee it is not the real thing at that price. As far as I'm aware, only Pier Aquatics in Wigan have had the genuine article in & they are >£100
