Oh, you got some of the gyrina? I've been looking at those… very tempting.
I highly recommend the denticetopsis, they have a kind of… quirky personality. Quite squirmy.

Re: My new fish!
Nighttime update:
The helogenes came out from… wherever they were, almost as soon as I turned the lights out. They swam around non-stop for about an hour, and searched the surface for food, before coming to rest in my floating plant. The denticetopsis are moving about the wood, still hiding but not in a stationary manner like during the day. The myoglanis are the most cryptic, and I've only seen one (under a leaf). When I flipped the leaf over to check if the fish was alive or dead (couldn't see gills moving), it shot back into the wood in the blink of an eye.
I was aware that the helogenes are fond of floating plants (hence the temporary plastic one), but what I didn't know is that the denticetopsis like them too! Two of them went straight for the plant as soon as I put them in, and stayed there all the way to lights-out (about 10 hours)! In fact, one of them is still there! I tried to move them thinking they were stuck or dead, but they went right back to the plant.
I squirted some frozen bloodworms around the tank with a turkey baster (dedicated for aquarium use only), hopefully they will eat them. They might have already, but I don't know yet. It's a blackwater-ish tank, so when it's dark, it's REALLY dark. Lots of tannins in the water.
