Resilience and Vulnerability data in FishBase

Post by Viktor Jarikov »

These are given at the bottom of the data pages for each fish. Can someone please explain what these mean or point to the right site where this is described?

These are terms applied to fish populations in fishery science. The FAO fisheries glossary explains these terms.

You could ask them for it, or ask them where they sourced the data.

For programmatic access to FishBase data, take a look at 'rfishbase': https://github.com/ropensci/rfishbase.

Bear in mind though, that this is only XML scraping rather than a full API to the backend database, and as such is a bit sluggish and limited in what it can do.
