Black Schultzei

Post by debbeesm23 »

I am hoping someone that has successfully breed the Black Schultzie. We have had ours for almost a year and I have done everything I can think of to get them to spawn but no luck. Can anyone please give me some pointers on getting them to spawn. I would greatly appreciate any and all help I can get. Thanks!

I know Mark Walters (corywally) was breeding them and they are commonly bred. I think a matter of conditioning them well and a big water change to spawn.

Cheers

I have tried everything, I have artificial broad leaf plants in the tank, sand bottom, I feed frozen blood worms alternated with a special blend of pellets, I do at least a 50% cold water change, my corys are in a 10 gal tank, sponge filter. If there is anything I am not doing or doing wrong, please let me know. Thanks!

How long do you leave them before a water change?

Leave them for two or three weeks or longer. Try changing the big water change when the weather changes.

Feed live blackworms for about 4-5 days before a front. Then right before the weather front comes through do a big water change (50% or more). That usually works for me.
