Banjo Catfish
I was wondering if anyone knew what an albino banjo catfish looked like? it would be very interesting to see a yellow or white catfish in a tank because i mean imagine it. probably the reason for it not existing (to my knowledge) is because a banjo catfish doesnt really have defense mechanisms but instead uses its amazing camouflage.

Re: Banjo Catfish
Hi Banjo catfish,
Welcome to Planetcatfish.
To answer your question, I have never seen an albino banjo cat, but I imagine that they have occurred in nature throughout their history. You're right though about the camouflage. Most wild albino animals don't survive long if their species depends on hiding for survival.
What would an albino banjo look like? Probably yellowish with off-yellow camouflage markings, if I had to guess - sort of like an albino bristlenose or albino .
Do you feel artistic? You are certainly welcome to try your hand at creating one as a drawing, then submit it to the Fantasy Catfish League (http://www.planetcatfish.com/general/ge ... ish+League).
Cheers, Eric

Re: Banjo Catfish
Well this species is not known for bearing much pigment
And has been to known to switch to a very pale pattern.

I can stop keeping catfish whenever I want. I just don't think I'll ever want to do that...

If you look at the artwork on the page, it appears to me that some people have photoshopped real photos. I think that's okay.

I'd not seen that thread before - I'll need to install a swimming pool if my Pseudacanthicus grows that big!
