What can it be? New cory addition.

Post by globalzero »

Hi from Greece,

I ordered online 6 corydoras sterbai , what I received was 6 sick cory close to death from malnutrition .

In addition there is a white spot - mucus in the head area, something like a second dead skin. Does not look like fungus.

What can it be? All parameters are in check nh4 0 , no2 0 ,n03 5, ph 6.8, kh 5 , gh 8(reverse osmosis) .The aquarium is 30 g , heavy planted and the temperature is at 80 F.

I have started treating them with Waterlife myxazin which seems to helped a little bit.

Any suggestion? Shall I leave them without any new medication ? only with regular water changes and good food?
Thanks in advance! :-H

As far as the white spot circled I had something like that on some of my c140s. I increased the temp about 2 decrees Celcius. And did 90% daily water changes for about a week.

I am a very large breeder of Sterbai and the best advice for this Cory is clean water. This Cory does not do well without frequent water changes.
