Hi all!
Just sharing the pic.
I've already run this by Heok Hee. They had a name Cheeta.

Dave,

This an Indian fish from Dolphin? We're seeing something called banded stone cat from Dolphin's Indian exporter. (see this)

It's an Indian fish that has been in the trade a while. Used to go under the name of cheetah catfish and is an undescribed genus and species.

I have seen this fish some years ago under the name Erethistoides montana. So Heok Hee is this a wrong ID?

Erethistoides montana actually looks more like any Erethistes species. Yes, that is the wrong ID. This fish has also been wrongly identified as Laguvia shawi. Mario de Pinna and I looked at the fish some years back and we agreed that it was an undescribed genus and species.

I've just found the ref. for the Erethistoides montana ID:

Kottelat, M. (1998): Neu oder selten eingeführte Fische ais Indien. (DATZ 51 (5): 329-331)

and

Freyhof, J. (2003): Zwerg-Sandwelse aus Indien. (DATZ 56 ( 8 ) : 33)

It's not a baby something right? I mean, Dave, have you had this fish for a while and it's not grow fast?

No it's not. I have seen these full grown and the exporters and tried unsuccessfully to keep some alive. They max out at about 4 cm SL.
