Big Corydoras

Post by Sergio Pereyra »

I would like to share the pictures of the big Corydoras I have rescued, I estimate 15 cm lenght.
I was walking along the road one day after a big rain storm when I saw the fishes captive in water puddles. Looks like the fishes were carried out from an small lake by the rain.
I put them safe, in the same lake again.
These Corydoras were found in Araçoiaba da Serra town, 120 KM west from São Paulo City, here we have many small rivers and lakes.

Looking at the tail, it must be Hoplosternum, and these are known to go from pond to pond when it is a wet night
cats have whiskers
