L66 color changes

I just noticed one of my L66 pleco's seems have a lot of light black lines where they used to be a lot darker, is this from being head first into the caves so much/ Seems healthy enough and swims fine, but always scurries out of the caves and quickly disappears under the bog wood so I only just get a fractional look at him.

Do the L66 change color at all from being in the caves so much? I saw one for a micro second leaving a cave and scurried under some bog wood. He or she seemed lighter in color but with a very quick look it's hard to tell.

They can go paler if stressed, mood and substrate also affect it. Males grown small odontodes all over their body as they mature and so this dulls the overall affect which is typically more noticeable in adult females.
