L-204 Tank Mates
I'm curious as to what those who are keeping L-204 have them in with, if anything. I'm considering moving mine in with a group of Guianacara Stergiosi. I know that there are several Characins that would work well, but most seem to require more acidic water. My parameters hover around 7.8, KH5, GH8.5.

I have a 6" in with my group, but I wouldn't suggest it

I have them in with and they do okay together; I have the very similar in with oil cats () and they get along well (although the Panaqolus steal the live black worms meant for the perugiae). I don't own many other open water fish, so I can't help you there.
Based on temperature preferences, I'd also consider keeping them with or .

Eric, maybe I'm misunderstanding your reply. Are you saying that you are keeping Guianacara with your Panaqolus.bekateen wrote: 12 Dec 2017, 00:52 I have them in with and they do okay together; I have the very similar in with oil cats () and they get along well (although the Panaqolus steal the live black worms meant for the perugiae). Re: L-204 Tank Mates
Good point. Sorry, I was not clear. No, I have never kept Guianacara at all. I was responding to the title of your thread and the question I though you were asking, that you were seeking suitable tankmates for Panaqolus albivermis (L204). I was telling you what tankmates I've had with P. albivermis (and P. albomaculatus which is similar to P. albivermis in its needs).Speedy1985 wrote: 12 Dec 2017, 01:10Eric, maybe I'm misunderstanding your reply. My apologies for the undefined pronoun.
As for tetras, I have kept golden tetras () with P. albomaculatus and clowns, so I think golden tetras would be okay with P. albivermis. Here is a video from a tank with oil cats, P. albomaculatus, and golden tetras:

Ok great, I'll keep those in mind. Worst case, I will be keeping the Panaqolus in their own tank.bekateen wrote: 12 Dec 2017, 01:17Good point. Sorry, I was not clear. Re: L-204 Tank Mates
I wouldn't worry about the PH that much. As long as you don't plan on going beneath PH6, they should be fine.
oops, I just saw, that you were worried about the characins, not the L204
forget about it, then.

Re: L-204 Tank Mates
I've decided that for now, they will get their own 33 long tank. Driftwood, rock and a few ceramic caves will fill it out.
