Hello PC
I got a problem with my Hydor Prime 10.
It dosent provide the 350 l/h as promised, probably more like 150-200 l/h.
I have tried cleaning the rotor, the hoses, filtermedia and flushed every in-take and out-take in the pump.
The rotor seems fine as well, it isnt broken or anything.
Got any ideas how to fix it?
Regards Kristoffer

Re: Hydor prime 10 problem
Hello,
A quick check on the hydor website and it suggests 350* litres an hour but no explanation as to what the star is for. In my experience you get the max flow only without any media present and the hoses cut to the correct length. Also if you remove a spray bar if present can help.
Basically normally pumps give about half the rated output at best when filled with media.

Re: Hydor prime 10 problem
Try using it without any media or the hard plastic bends on a bucket. You may need to place the bucket on a chair. You may need to hold the hoses in place.
If it performs well as it should put one part back at a time till the flow drops dramatically. I recommend putting media back last and in sections.
P. So check the taps are opening and closing correctly and not blocked.

Re: Hydor prime 10 problem
Hello again James.
I found the problem, a big chunk of hard sludge was build up in the in-take tubing.
I needed to flush it with very hot water, to get it out.
Thank you for you're advice!
