Image uploads stall from iPhone

This is an issue reported by @Wrasse in a DM, but documenting it here to see if others experience this issue.

When replying to a thread, the user selects the attachments tab, then selects three images from the phone's camera roll. The upload starts (small amount of green in gray progress bar) but it never completes. I will upload an image below.

I've never had a serious problem uploading photos from my Windows phone. Shame they've been discontinued.

On a few occasions, I've started an image upload and it works. Then I add a second image and it works too. Then if I add a third image, the file select function works (so I pick the photo I want to upload), but then magically th PlanetCatfish screen somehow FORGETS all the prior images and I have to start over. When I encounter this, my fix is to upload the first two photos without trouble and SUBMIT the post. Once it's posted, then I reopen the post for editing and I add more photos. This way, the first two photos can't be forgotten. This fix always works for me.

This problem doesn't happen to me very often, and only started recently, and so I've always assumed it was linked to me losing Wi-Fi connectivity. But maybe there's something more to it than this.
