Wood options
I was outside today putting a nice brisket on our smoker(could be an expensive experiment
) and I was adding some mesquite and apple chunks to the coals. At the moment I grabbed the apple, I wondered if it would be ok to use a few of those chunks in some of my pleco tanks. Most pieces do not have any bark on them. Anyone else ever use them? In my mind I want to believe that they'd be safe because they are used for smoking food.

Re: Wood options
Ok great thank you. As far as the harder woods, I would imagine they shouldn’t be used for the wood eaters like Panaqolus though correct?stuby wrote: 19 May 2019, 18:05 Most wood are safe for use..... Oak, Maple, Cherry, Beech, and yes Apple are all fine.

Re: Wood options
I use it in all of my tanks...… Panaqolus love it and so do the rest of my plecs. The caves in my pictures where much thicker than they are now..... and the plecs love making a snack out of them.Speedy1985 wrote: 19 May 2019, 18:21Ok great thank you.
