Two days later I found they had spawned but it was a bit of a mess...
I took the eggs in the early morning and then rushed off to work. Later that day I cleaned up the egg mass and found there were still some good and fertile eggs.

Great job Jac, still kicking myself for missing out on a group of these. My Leporacanthicus have been trapping intermittently for close to 2 weeks and still no spawn. So very impressive from your fish, keep us updated.

Whilest I was on holiday the group spawned again. The male kicked the eggs out just before hatching day. This time a great outcome They fry are doing great!

8 Days old and almost ready for their first feed. Put some Walnut leaves in their fry ring.
Can't wait for them to get some more colour and pattern. They promise to be spectaculair

It has been a while and I noticed I forgot to update on the fry. So here goes
They are doing great. Slow growing species. The group hasn't spawned since.
In this video there are a few more interesting F1's. Ancistrus sp. L255 and Parancistrus nudiventris

I left the eggs with the male, who did a good job! By day 4 he lost a few of the eggs so I collected them and put them safe in a frying.
On day 5 he decided he had enough and kicked the rest of them out. They started hatching later that day and into the next morning. All are doing very well
