there some quite doubtful pictures in your data base. As there are lots of similar species from various locations that have been considered to belong to this species and also the populations in Suriname show quite a high variability in pattern it's difficult to identify them with pictures alone...

Pictures 3-5,12 from Shane Lindner: possible
Pictures 6-8,11 from Joshua Emm: probably not
Pictures 9-10 from Johnny Jensen: possible
Picture 13 from Johnny Jensen: probably not
Picture 14: definitely yes

I would suggest to try to find out from where those other Hypostomus originated. I'm quite convinced that all populations outside the Guyanas & Venezuela (Essequibo) do not belong to this species.
