ARE THESE SYNODONTIS NJASSAE?
Person I got them from doesn't know what they are. Found a sketch online and they look nearly identical. l've attached a picture of the catfish and the sketch I found. Need species confirmation

This does not look like . The adipose is much too large for a start. I a sure others will weigh in but this looks more like a hybrid to my eye.

Shane’s right but I’d say based on the thickened barbels which used to be enough to see this species placed in a different genus and are not a feature I have seen in hybrids.

Looking at both the above photos and pictures on site I think Jools is correct. Nice fish, but they get very big.
