Was I sold the wrong pleco?

Post by umiz00mi »

Bought an L239 blue panaque pleco from my LFS, but I have noticed it doesn't have the same features as I've seen with most L239 online. No blue tipped fins/tail, and its scales seem to be closer to black than the navy blue that is characteristic of L239. Was I sold the wrong pleco? It looks very similar to the mango pleco (which would make sense as they are related). I've attached pictures of my fish as well as pictures of the mango plecos sold at my LFS. They look very similar.

I don't think so, but I can see why you'd ask.

I appreciate it! I don't mind whether its an L239 or not so much as it would just be a huge problem if my pleco was capable of growing to a foot long as L047 do vs. the ~4 inches L239 are meant to grow to.
