Chaetostoma formosae with red fins
This guy has recently matured and he really has put on a show with his colors. He shows off really red fins!

Re: Chaetostoma formosae with red fins
Great fish and one of the easier Chaetostoma sp to spawn.
I have noted that their overall body coloration can change drastically if the hue and or intensity of the aquarium's lighting is changed. Under high intensity lights with lots of blue my fish looked slate gray. Under less intense multispectrum lighting they went to gray brown
Keep whatever lights you are using as the fish looks great.

Re: Chaetostoma formosae with red fins
No spawning yet, but perhaps soon. They're still growing, not as large as the adult male i had already before them.
The 3 new ones have grown, though I lost 1 early as I don't think it adapted well to captivity. The 2 that survived I wound up with a male and a female, giving me a total ratio of 2 males and 1 female. They all keep to themselves

Re: Chaetostoma formosae with red fins
Here are the other two, a male and a female, both lack the vibrant fins that the smaller male has.
I love these guys, they're a really fun pleco to keep, very active and dart around the rockwork of their tank.
