Vicktor, have you tried freshwater Prawn or shrimp yet? I imagine you can get it by the pound down where you are.

The cheapest is around $4-$5 per pound and these foods contain more thiaminase than the fish we feed (herring, mullet, etc.), so I'd have to heat it well, half-cook it.

My limit of affordability is $1/lb.
