help with fish id

Post by feyani »

hi, this is my first time posting here, and first off im not sure how to put an image on here, second im trying to put links instead, which will hopefully work although in the preview they don't seem to want to.. <br> any way, i've been searching in your webpage and i think this fish is a chaetostoma cf. leucomelas, but i was wondering if you would give me some other oppinions?? it was labeled as a "rubber lipped pleco" when i got it. it also hasn't grown at all, it's just about 2 inches long. i've had it for over 6 months. small fish... any infos would be great. thanks : )

It's a Chaetostoma, but I don't think it's the same thing as C. cf. leucomelas.
The husbandry information on Chaetostoma are pretty similar and you can use Chaetostoma cf. thomsoni as an example.
