Unidentified Loricariinae

Post by Yann »

Hi!

Well Charly Eon has received this Loricariinae in a group of Loricaria similima!
Any idea of what it is! it look like a Loricaria, but could belong to another genus. The lips shape clearly show that it should be a "Lipsbrooding" Loricariinae!
Cheers

Hi!

I just gave a look inside the BSSW sondernheft on "lips brooding" Loricariinae, one possible fish, that do look similar in body form, shape and also in lips shape and form are the Loricariinae from the genus Loricariichthys, one species is occuring in Argentina, Loricariichthys platymetopon and possibly loricariichthys labialis as well.

Cheers

Hello Yann

Thanks for searching the ID of this fish. I'm not sure it comes from Argentna. I bought them as simillima.

They are lipbrooding, they reproduce well.

Cheers

charly
