This little guy is a new addition to my 55 gallon that currently has 4 Syn. petricolas and 9 Lab hongis. I am leaning towards Syn. gobroni, or maybe nigriventris, but the color is throwing me. My wife says that the eyes are black, so albino is out.
Right now, S. waterloti looks like the best candidate. I think a more reliable identification is possible if you wait until the fish grows somewhat bigger.
I thought that he/she might be a bit young, which may be why his color is the way it is now. Still, I think the dorsal fin is more pointed than that of walterloti. I will post again when he gets a few more inches on him. Thanks for the help.
I don't know how I missed that one in the gallery. I think I just looked at the first pic and ingnored the second and third. Had I looked at them first I would have been swayed that way sooner. I say that is the fish. Looks to be the same color, has a pointed dorsal, and has large eyes. Looks to be a dead ringer to me, but we will see when he gets a little bigger.
