Blue Panaque? Blue L027? help????

Post by patrickstockton »

My LFS that i bought this from said it was an L027a "Blue Spotted Royal PLeco" (wild). The only blue guys i can find on the web are L239 (blue panaque). But my guy looks a little different than the L239. I have more pics if these aren't good enough.... Just very curuous what i have. The store owner stated that he was VERY rare. whatever...

thanks alot yann.... Any thougths on this cat? I've never seen anything like this. My LFS owner said he was very rare and a steal at $50 (US). Any guesses on why these guys thought it was a L-027a? We even looked it up in the Aqualog together because i was skeptical. I had never seen a solid royal before, let alone a BLUE one. The only reason I can think of is that it is called a "blue panaque". maybe the panaque part threw them off and made them assume it was a royal. But all these peeps are really knowledgeable... anyway...
Panaque maccus LDA22
Panaque nigrolineatus L190
Ancistrinae L200 - "Spotted Green"
Ancistrinae L239 - "Blue Panaque"
Hisonotus leucofrenatus - "Niger Oto"
Otocinclus flexilis
Otocinclus arnoldi (vittatus????)
Parotocinclus maculicauda - "Red Finned Oto"
Parotocinclus jumbo LDA25 - "Pitbull"
Hypancistrus zebra L046 - "Zebra"

They don't seem very rare, at least from what this thread implies.
