What species is this fish?
I have been told that this is an African Marble Catfish, however I am skeptical. I can not find any good information on that type of fish so I am looking for another opinion. Unfortunatly I do not have a picture, however I will describe it in detail.
The fish definitly looks like a catfish. It is all black, with brown marbled stripes running all over its body. Its wiskers are VERY long. Also, the fish is rather large. I have had it for 5 years and it is about 13 inches long. Also, it is rather dormant, usually only moving around at night. Lastly it is carnivorous.
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Perhaps a Clarias spp.?
They are suppose to be banned from sale in the U.S., however I've seen them offered in LFS once in a while.
