Thanks.. I´m the the stunned owner of these ugly creatures...
The Chrysichthys brachynema seems to be a Tangayika catfish thats dwells in the deep.
I have never seen it before... how rare is it? My specimen doesnt eat anything yet... its about 10-11 inches long. Any information should most welcome!
I will try to get a better picture, and then mail it to "FishBase" http://www.fishbase.se/search.cfm
Today I had the opportunity to listen to the famous Sven Kullander, Senior Curator of Ichthyology at the Swedish Museum of Natural History, talking about "FishBase" at the "Nordiska ciklid sällskapets" annual conferens. Very interesting, and I found the Chrysichthys brachynema in that database... but no picture (as in planet catfish). I got a bit scared when I saw the possible lenght...77 cm
