White Chinese catfish

This fish was sold as "hui yu" (-->return fish) in a Beijing wholesale fish market. First time I've seen it in a Chinese market. Some kind of Pelteobagrus?

These are what the Chinese literature often refers to as Leiocassis longirostris. According to Mo (1991), they should be Pseudobagrus longirostris.

That is one ugly fish!
looks a bit like a pig.....

weird color btw; natural albino/bred one/xanthoristic or cave-fish?

they look pretty sized up; how big are they?
they were sold for food or fishkeeping (from what I know of the Chinese, they eat all kind of stuff...)

They are large-river fishes and are naturally a bluish-white in color.
I don't believe they were being sold as pets (being in a wholesale fish market).
