I have a goeldiella eques in a 96L tank, with a stripe-tail catfish and a pair of severums. We did have a pair of jewel cichlids in the tank too, but they turned out to be a breeding pair and were far too aggressive, so were moved to their own tank.
As a result, the goeldiella has suffered from nipped fins (and whiskers). One of his eyes seems cloudy too - in the dark I can still see a reflection in the back of his eye, but I was wondering if damage like this can heal? My LFS recommended treating with Melafix, which I am doing for a week followed by a 25% water change as per the instructions. Is this the best treatment I can give him?
The poor guy doesn't liik too happy!
Thanks
