Tetra (axelrodi) fishes whit hypancistrus zebra?

I hvae a tank whit 6 adult zebras that I`m trying too gett too spawn. They alredy layd egg one time 14 days agoo.

But my question is do tetra fishes like Paracheirodon axelrodi go in this tank without disturbing the zebras? The reason for this is that the tank is standing in our livingroom, and we want a litle more "life" in the tank. But only if we are shure that they not are bad for the zebras spawn

And if some off your have ideas for other fishes that can go together with the zebras. I have had them with my discus, but I`m afraid thet they can take the young ones

Hi!

The Cardinalis surely won't like the fast moving water needed for succesfully breeding Hypancistrus zebra...

Keeping them with Discus is either a good idea especially if they are young Cardinalis with old wild caught Discus...

Tanks Yann!

The wather curent is 7-8 times a hour. But i got a big pice off drift wood in the midle that breakes up the wather flow. Soo the wather flow isnt gona be the big problem. I have 2 pumps thet are pointet on the cawes.

Ind the idea wast too have the Cardinalis with the discus, but too say thet I`v had the discus with the zebras before. And it went fine beaquse they could "hide" from the wather movment. The even layd egg many times

But I now that it is not the best wather movment for discus, soo they have a own tank now

But does the Cardinalis disturb the zebras? Ore dosn`t the zebras mind the Cardinalis

Hi!

Personnally I wouldn't do it, because, the Cardinalis won't like it, but I doubt they would do any harm to the Hypancistrus zebra, except maybe some very young fry... maybe you can fatten them up and then put them with the Discus...

What kind off tetras likes fast water movment and 28-29 degres in the wather? I`m looking for a type that not get bigger then 4-6 cm. If possible a type that likes eat in the upper part off the wather. Beaquse than they can live off the food that the zebras donsn`t eat.

You might try either silver or marble hatchets. Since they are top feeders, they don't hassle the occasional escaped fry. Plus a little leftover flake adds variety to the zebra diet. They liven the tank quite a bit, zooming back and forth in the current as a school.

Also, since the lighting requirement for the tanks is small, I can use spot incandescents which really show off the iridescent hatchets.
